About Hannah Gideon

Pride, persistence and passion are what drives artist Hannah Gideon forward in her tattooing career!

Her love of art was sparked at a young age, and at age twelve Hannah started training at Pro's Art Painting School in the evenings, under the direction of Ann Wealand and Gene Prokop. Painting and drawing became a vital avenue of escape and happiness for Hannah. Shortly after she graduated high school, she went on to complete a business degree in supply-chain management and worked in the business administration world.

At the end of 2016, Hannah discovered an opportunity to apprentice under a talented medical tattoo artist who contracted out tattoo services to the Edmonton Cancer Centre. Upon completion of her apprenticeship, Hannah went on to more advanced training through the Sauler Institute for Medical Tattooing in Philadephia, USA.

With every new client and experience, Hannah discovers more and more how profound the effect of medical tattooing can be.

Why MarDon?

MarDon is essentially two names merged together – Marvin and Donald, which are the names of Hannah’s grandfathers.

Marvin Clark was a well-respected doctor who ran his own practice on Prince Edward Island for many years, and was also a strong leader on the provincial medical board and countless committees.

Donald MacQuarrie dedicated his career to farming on Prince Edward Island – mostly island potatoes. Eventually, he branched in beef farming and established a successful line of meats: MacQuarrie Meats.
